Hazardous Areas Definitions and Equipment Requirements
The United States has incorporated the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Zone system into a parallel classification system to the traditional U.S. Class I Division system -- the U.S. Class I Zone system. Click the link above for explanations and details of system requirements.

ATEX Directive
If you design, manufacture or sell any equipment or protective system intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, you must comply with the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC and the CE Marking Directive to market those products in the European Union (EU). This directive covers equipment and protective systems, which may be used in hazardous areas created by the existence of flammable gases, vapors, mists or dusts. It also covers electrical and non-electrical equipment.

NEMA Ratings
In non-hazardous locations, there are several different NEMA ratings for specific enclosure "types", their applications, and the environmental conditions they are designed to protect against, when completely and properly installed. Click the link above for explanations and details of the rating system.

Sunlight Readability
Our proprietary direct backlighting/ edgelighting materials and techniques create displays with luminance ranging from 400 to 1600 nits. Our sunlight readable displays comprise color TFT LCDs, in a variety of sizes and resolutions. Click the link above for details on our Ultra-HiBrite displays.

Touchscreen Technologies
Touchscreens are natural operator input partners for flat panel displays. Their negligible size, reliability and ease of use make them ideal complements to our flat panel display systems. Click the link above for descriptions of the variety of touchscreen technologies we offer.
