NEMA 4 and Other Rated Products

NEMA 4 is not the only rating available for enclosures in non-hazardous locations. There are several different NEMA ratings for specific enclosure "types", their applications, and the environmental conditions they are designed to protect against. Computer Dynamics offers many industrial flat panel display systems configured for various NEMA ratings, including NEMA 4 type. Below, is a brief description of those products followed by their NEMA rating specification:

DisplayPac-OP
The NEMA 12 DisplayPac-OP panel-mount flat panel computer offers choice of computing engines up to 1.26 GHz; choice of display sizes: 12.1", 15" or 18" active matrix TFT LCD; and FCC, CE and UL approvals.

Intelligence IPC
The Intelligence IPC features choice of 12", 15" or 18" AMTFT display, up to 1.4 GHz PIII processor, 256M RAM and meets CE, UL1604, NEMA 4 rating, IP65, Class I, Division 2 certifications.

SeaBrite™ Monitors
SeaBrite™ flat panel monitors utilize a wide range of sunlight readable, wide temperature range TFT LCDs, brightness control technology for excellent viewability in various ambient light conditions, and touchscreen technologies for operator interface to fulfill the demands of the Marine industry. NEMA 4 certification on request.

VAMP-WN Series
VAMP-WN Series open-frame flat panel monitors connect to any standard VGA analog source and can be configured to accept NTSC / PAL / S-Video / DVI / Composite video signals. Optional panel mount plate provides NEMA 4/4X protection on front surface.

Rating Descriptions

NEMA 1
Type 1 enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against contact with the enclosed equipment or locations where unusual service conditions do not exist.

NEMA 4
Type 4 enclosures are intended for indoor or outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against windblown dust and rain, splashing water, and hose directed water; and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure.

NEMA 12
Type 12 enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against dust, falling dirt, and dripping non-corrosive liquids.
