When looking for flat panel computers, many decisions must be made. What size display is needed? How fast of a processor is necessary? What about a touchscreen for operator interface? Is an enclosure or other type of mounting required? At Computer Dynamics, you can chose one of our many feature-filled, standard product offerings where the decisions have been made for you. You can chose to modify one of the standard products or you can allow us to custom build one for you. Our line of flat panel computers features the latest displays (choices ranging from 6.4" through 20.1"), and offer the latest options in touchscreens and membrane keypads, along with sunlight-readable assemblies for high-ambient light conditions. They are powered by either a Pentium-class SBC up to 1 GHz and offer all PC-compatible functions or a StrongArm-based SBC allowing low-power, wide temperature range and diskless operation. Ranging from open-frame flat panel computers to complete enclosed products with plastic enclosures and full agency approvals, including NEMA 4/12; Class I, Division 2; FCC; CE; UL; CISPR II Medical Safety; EMI/EMC requirements of MIL-STD-461 C/D, systems are available in a variety of mechanical configurations .
We invite you to bring us your application requirements and allow our talented group of application engineers to help design the best, most cost-effective solutions, whether based on existing products or custom derivations of our standard platforms tuned to your specific needs. Our custom solution capabilities allow us to meet specific application requirements.
Flat Panel Computers: Computer Dynamics History
Incorporated in 1981 in upstate South Carolina, Computer Dynamics, Inc. (CDI) originated as a board-level supplier of STD Bus products for industrial automation and control. Our extensive electrical engineering capabilities led to the development of our first PC-compatible 808x- based single board computers capable of driving flat panel displays. Driven by customer demand, we introduced the first flat panel display computer and flat panel display monitor systems in the early 1990s, and continued to expand the capabilities of these platforms to include the widest range of open-frame and enclosed systems for the OEM and end-users in an array of industries and applications, including hazardous areas.
Our facilities, located in Greenville, South Carolina, include over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space on an 11-acre campus. On-site capabilities include EMI-scanning, a NEMA-4/12 test chamber and several wide-temperature range environmental testing chambers.
